    ‘where’s michelle?’

How the 'Fuller House' team jokingly explained Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's absence from the show.

Fans of the 90s sitcom Full House have had a lot to rejoice about lately, but not everything is peachy. The new spinoff of the comedy, Fuller House, is short one essential character, Michelle, who was played jointly by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The designers of The Row and Elizabeth and James decided not to reunite with the rest of the cast for the 13-episode show that debuted on Friday, February 26, because they were fully engaged in running their fashion lines, and had not been in front of a TV camera for 12 years,

But how to explain their absence to the audience? The Fuller House producers, according to ABC News, decided to be straightforward, and to have a bit of fun with it.

In the first episode, Jodie Sweetin’s character Stephanie asks where her little sister Michelle is. Danny Tanner (played by Bob Saget) replies, “Well, Michelle sends her love,” he says, “But she’s busy in New York, running her fashion empire.” Then the original cast members — DJ, Steph, Danny, Joey, Becky, and Joey — turn to the camera and pulls a sad face.

It’s funny because it’s accurate, but it’s not at all mean — Danny and the rest of the crew are truly sad that their show sisters aren’t there for the reunion.
