Boarding a flight from Europe to LA “high and hungover”, Wiz Khalifa could not have expected the not-chill reaction he’d receive when he landed at LAX and decided to fly through the concourse on a mini segway. The 27-year-old rapper said on Twitter he was “slammed and cuffed” and also shared video of three “cops” yelling at him to stop resisting as he calmly repeats (face down on the floor, arms behind back), “I’m not resisting, sir.”
Khalifa was remarkably level-headed about the treatment he received “all because I didn’t want to ditch the technogy [sic] everyone will be using in the next 6 months.” The incident might even have motivated the “hoverboard” loving star to create his own range: he added on Twitter, “What’s even funnier than them not bein able to do shit is they’ll be riding them soon as well. Maybe ones I design.”
A spokeswoman for US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told The Guardian: “An uncompliant passenger or any disruptive behaviour could put many at risk in this highly secure area.” But Khalifa was unrepentant, saying, “I stand for our generation and our generation is gonna be riding hover boards so if you don’t like it eat a dick!” Here’s to the Segway revolution!
