They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and it couldn’t be more true of Frances Bean Cobain and her late father Kurt Cobain. The Nirvana frontman and king of grunge was also known for his drawings, scribbled notes, and emotionally charged paintings — something director Brett Morgen drew on in biopic Montage of Heck. The film, which was executive produced by Frances Bean, used animations of Kurt’s artwork to tell his life story along with home footage.
Today, Frances has announced that she is selling prints of her own dark, expressive artwork on social shopping app Depop. The rare works had only previously been available at the La Luz De Jesus Gallery in LA, shown under the pseudonym Tim Fiddle. Now you can procure some of the 23-year-old’s work with the click of a button.
