It’s been announced that Angelina Jolie is joining The London School of Economics (LSE) as a visiting professor on a new MSc program in Women, Peace, and Security, firmly cementing her status as the most brilliant person ever. The Oscar-winning actor and lauded humanitarian says, “It is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict.” Jolie is a special envoy for the UN Refugee Agency; since joining in 2001, she’s participated in over 40 field missions to countries including Cambodia and Pakistan.
“I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students, as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations,” says Jolie. The course will be run by the LSE Centre for Women, Peace, and Security, which was launched last year by Jolie and the UK’s former foreign Secretary, William Hague.
