It’s become just as synonymous with the singer as her sugar-coated pop songs, but Ariana Grande has finally admitted that her scalp-scraping, bum-sweeping, ’40-pound’ ponytail isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. As anyone who’s ever tied their hair back could probably have guessed — it hurts like hell.
The secret was revealed when Camilla Cabello took to Twitter to document the pain she experienced when attempting to replicate Grande’s signature look. “I just did a high ponytail for the first time and it is literally pulling on my BRAIN ITS [sic] SO PAINFUL HOW DO YOU DO IT @ArianaGrande,” she wrote.
Grande was quick to respond with her words of solidarity, claiming she’s “in constant pain” but that she doesn’t “care at all”.
Lacking Grande’s dedication, Cabello announced she had to remove the hairstyle, lest she continue her day with constant cranial throbbing, hashtagging #thankunext in reference to Ariana’s recent lyrical homage to her exes.
Whilst fans of both chimed in with their own words of ponytail-related support, Grande signed off the conversation with a dollop of her signature twisted wit: “Awwww so happy for u, u still feel things”.
Guess Grande’s mega ponytail isn’t going anywhere just yet, then.
