Ever since Balenciaga debuted their controversial, dayglo brite pink platform Crocs on the runway for spring/summer 18, they’ve divided the internet. And now we’re all one step closer to joining the “iconic or just ugly” debate IRL by buying your own pair.
Well, as long as you have a cool $850. The Balenciaga x Crocs collaboration, fresh from the Paris runway and the fashion community’s collective dreams/nightmares, are now available from select retailers for pre-order, just in time for spring. The first Croc drop is available in two colours, pink and tan, and include the jewels and pins originally needed to customise them. So you won’t get that Croc tan, you know.
If platform pink Crocs don’t take your fancy for summer footwear, then luckily the brand are also releasing a (similarly expensive, at $670) neon slide sandal. The pool flats are part of an SS18 pop up in collaboration with Balenciaga and Japanese retailer Isetan, and will also feature a selection of clothing including track jackets and pants, and “supermarket shopper” and “supermarket clip” bags.
So now you can look like you’re just popping to the shops with your bag and your crocs, or lounging by the pool, but just, in a more chic way, you know?
You can check out the pool sliders on Isetan’s website from 7 February, while the Crocs are available for pre-order at Barneys New York. Bring on summer.
