It’s been a long wait since Mulberry announced the appointment of Johnny Coca as Creative Director back in November last year, but the Spanish designer has taken up his post today. The former accessories design director at Céline, whose start was celebrated with the release of a portrait by David Bailey, will be heading up Mulberry’s design team on women’s and men’s leather accessories, shoes, ready-to-wear and soft accessories, as well as overseeing all creative aspects of the brand’s image.

“I am so happy to finally start my journey at Mulberry and it is with great enthusiasm that I embrace my new role as Creative Director,” Johnny said. “I am thrilled to share my vision with the creative teams in London but it is also crucial for me to spend as much time as possible at The Rookery and at The Willows, our factories in Somerset, as they are the heart of our brand, and craftsmanship is the soul of our products. It is truly an honor to work with the team to start a new chapter of the Mulberry story.”
