Since 2012, Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta have teamed with director Alexa Karolinski in creating fashion films that bring each season’s collection to life in novel ways. Whether capturing senior citizens’ elegant tai chi routine in Chinatown’s Columbus Park (Uniform) or a group of children’s domicile boredom (autumn/winter 13’s Family), each of the trio’s videos reflect the brand’s innovative voice and vision.
This Saturday, Eckhaus Latta will screen a selection of these video works, including the premiere of their spring/summer 2015 collection video Pigeon, at Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art. “Pigeon is a continuation of our collaboration with Alexa Karolinski. The video is by far the most concise idea we’ve had to date. We wanted to stick to a very minimal narrative in order to focus on emotional details,” Zoe told i-D. The screening will be followed by a conversation with the designers and Karolinski. The event runs between 3 and 6 pm with the premiere screening at 4:30 pm.
