“If you liked two thousand and seventeen then you’ll love two thousand and eighteen” Frank Ocean wrote on the pages of i-D. Blessed be, it might just be true. Last year we really did grow accustomed to waking up and finding a new Frank track had hit the internet courtesy of his Blonded Radio show every so often. Since 1 January we’ve been left wondering what realms his music would take us to next — until now.
The track is a haunting cover of 1961’s Moon River by Henry Mancini — famously sung by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. True to form, Frank has given it a sparse, multi-layered vocal reimagining that’ll reverberate around your heart and have you feeling some kind of way.
Listen to the track below, and check out our 32-pages of Frank from The Sounding Off Issue. It came to him in a dream.
