We can’t wait to get our hands on Babe. The book has been compiled by the who’s who of girl power. The editor is regular i-D contributor, artist and feminist thinker Petra Collins, the foreword is written by our Activist Issue i-Con Tavi Gevinson and there are various image and written contributions by some more of our favorite people including and principally: Harley Weir, Arvida Byström, Sandy Kim and Karley Sciortino (#Sluteverforever).
It would be undignified to use the word obsessed, but we’re very, very much fans of this troupe of inspirational females who met online and have been making exciting, progressive work together for the last few years for all the right reasons. Babe will give us an examination of “female identity, scrutinization of the role of the internet and social media, and angst and nostalgia combined with an overarching feeling of camaraderie, excitement, confusion and alienation.”
It’s hard to put it better. We’ll have more to show you soon, but here’s a taste of what to expect in the pastel pink covered compendium of youth culture and feminism in 2015.
Babe is out May 1, 2015.
