Este, Danielle and Alana Haim have announced their long-awaited sophomore album, a follow up to the critically acclaimed 2013 debut Days Are Gone. The title of the upcoming release has not yet been revealed, but the band told Rolling Stone that they are aiming for an autumn release.
The band explain that a song commission for a film sparked their creative process again. They loved the track they produced — Little of Your Love — so much they kept it for themselves.
The album is described as being “more organic” and inspired by the feeling of being back at their parents’ LA home after their success took them away for so long. “We’ve gone through a lot these last couple years,” guitarist Danielle explains, “trying to go back to your normal life, but realising there is a difference”.
“All of our band rehearsals until recently were in our living room, and we wrote every song in our living room,” bassist Este adds. “So it was surreal and kind of emotional to be like, ‘We’re going to the Grammys in a week and we’re back in the living room trying to write a new album'”. The countdown starts now.
