Hood by Air’s Shayne Oliver is creating a capsule collection for Helmut Lang that will be shown in September 2017, it has been announced. The fate of Shayne’s own label was rumored to be in doubt after the Hood by Air show during Paris Fashion Week this month was canceled, but a representative for the label told BoF that “Shayne is currently focusing his time on the special project with Helmut Lang. As a result, HBA will be continued but is transitioning to accommodate this. We will be releasing more information soon.”
Oliver was brought into the Helmut Lang fold by Isabella Burley, the brand’s first “editor in residence.” Shayne Oliver’s capsule is understood to be the first in a series of designer capsule collections masterminded by Burley, who will also relaunch the Helmut Lang website and digital presence this summer, BoF reports. “Helmut Lang is a pioneering company and we are going back to its heritage of being bold,” says chief executive Andrew Rosen.
