    i-DJ: sega bodega

Part Chilean and part Irish, this London-based producer is totally awesome.

We first watched Sega Bodega play a set at a Glasgow Stone Island event towards the end of last year. Heavy, abrasive and deconstructed to the point of falling apart, it was, readers, an unqualified racket. We loved every second. Like watching the Jesus and Mary Chain at the North London Poly except with more high performance menswear. He popped up on the soundtrack to our Glasgow Party Politics film the other week and again in our inboxes when he announced new EP Ess B on Crazylegs (along with mega lead single CC ft. Shygirl). We wanted him to make us a mix. He made us a mix. Play it very loud and immediately.

Hello Sega Bodega. What’s this mix all about then?
In the time between finishing my EP and releasing it I’d been making a lot of stuff – edits and original things – that I don’t really know if I’ll ever have a place for. This is kinda a vent for that. Also there’s some friends in there whose productions amaze me so I had to share.

Can you describe yourself in four words?
    1. twitchy
    2. and
    3. uncomfor
    4. table

    What is your greatest ambition?
    To sound interesting in Q&As.

    Which album changed your life?
The first album I was really obsessed with was Undisputed Attitude by Slayer. Hard to think of an album that’s changed my life but that was a turning point in my obsession for music.

Your house is on fire. After loved ones, what do you save?
After loved ones? lol… Laptop first, then loved ones.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained a new ability, what would it be?
    Flight.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?
Would go back to the big bang and tell the creators to reconsider what they’re about to do.

If it weren’t for music what else would you be doing?
Live at home with mum and claim benefits.

If you could ask anyone a question, who would you ask, and what?
I’d ask myself to try harder at relaxing.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Everything ends. Not saying that’s a bad or a good thing. It’s just a thing.
