i-D is joining forces with London’s iconic V&A for a special photography edition of their monthly Friday Lates. Taking place on Friday 26 October, the free event — titled Friday Late: Snap in collaboration with i-D — will coincide with the launch of the new V&A Photography Centre, and explore how we create, collect, and preserve moments in the click of a shutter.

The original contemporary late night event, the V&A’s monthly Friday Lates celebrate all aspects of contemporary visual culture and design, bringing audiences face-to-face with both leading and emerging artists. The event on 26 October will be no different, drawing on i-D’s 38 year history at the vanguard of contemporary culture for an evening of performance, film, installation, debate, DJs and late-night exhibition openings.

“i-D has always been about catching the moment, encouraging ideas and progression, personality and spirit, working with the very newest photographers through to those at the very top of the industry,” says i-D Creative Director Graham Rounthwaite. “There’s so much brilliant talent out there, it’s such an exciting time to be making images.”

All events on the night are free and places are designated on a first-come, first-served basis, unless stated otherwise. Filming and photography will take place and if you have any access requirements, please email disability@vam.ac.uk ahead of your visit.

“We’re really excited to be collaborating with i-D on October’s Friday Late to celebrate the opening of our new V&A Photography Centre,” continues Friday Late Curator and Coordinator Jenna Mason. “Both Friday Late and i-D are at the forefront of contemporary culture and work to showcase pioneering artists, encourage creativity, and champion new and subversive design. We can’t wait to explore ideas of photography together.”

Please note, if the Museum reaches capacity access will be designated on a one-in, one-out basis.
