Share it, like, it, read it, own it, heart it. In the age of accelerated celebrity, incessant likes and trolling haters, we asked some young Londoners what "popular" means today.

    What do you do?
    Make music and write poetry.

What does “popular” mean to you?
Popular is a word that describes someone or something that’s deemed to be favourable by a relatively large number of people.

Do you care how many followers you have on Instagram?
I care because more followers could potentially amount to me having more opportunities to do the sort of things that I’d like to do; but by the same measure I don’t care because to a great extent I’ll do a lot of those things regardless of how many followers I have at any given time

Whose account do you double tap the most on instagram?
@bellahadid or @caradelevingne probably, but then again maybe @thefatjewish or @grimememories – @ts_abe definitely gets a fair few double-taps from me

Who was the most popular person in your school and what did you think of them?
I went to lots of schools – the most popular people were always the girls who were the most attractive or the boys with the sharpest tongues, quickest fists or the best trainers – it would probably have helped to have an older sibling too.

Who is the ultimate pop icon?
    Michael Jackson

    What’s your favourite lyric?
“If they don’t give a fuck, why do you give a fuck? Pop two and he’s fucked, and just rememinisce, on all the times that you were penniless, and any time you’re slippin’ please just remember this, be on point and put your guard up for your nemesis, you will never miss, in between the eyes, catch the devil in disguise, I mean it, you will look heavy when you ride, few years from 20 with a 38 semi on your side, and soldiers? You ain’t got any on your side, they’ll take your p’s and pie and tell you please don’t cry” by Tempman – “Sticky Business” (Freestyle)
