While we already know the answer to the question “Who killed Laura Palmer?,” much is still a mystery about the third season of Twin Peaks. Fans of David Lynch’s cult 90s TV show will have to wait almost two more months for Showtime to finally debut its next installment of this iconic series on May 21, reintroducing the world to that sleepy, crime-ridden hamlet in Washington state and its cast of quirky townsfolk. Until then, Peaks Freaks can comfort themselves with the next best thing: buying piles of merch featuring your favorite characters’ faces, which thanks to Habitat Skateboards just got a whole lot easier.
During a two-day event at SXSW, the skateboard company will be honoring Lynch’s legendary show with a pop-up shop featuring six new board designs based on some of the show’s most instantly recognizable imagery. The shop will also host performances by several bands, as well as a special appearance by FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper himself, Kyle MacLachlan. The latest offerings from Habitat feature pictures of various characters from the show, including an illustration of Cooper in silhouette, Laura Palmer’s unforgettable senior class photo, a collage of everyone’s favorite troublemaker Audrey Horne, and of course the pièce de résistance: the Log Lady, complete with her beloved clairvoyant log.
In addition to boards, the store will also offer Twin Peaks T-shirts emblazoned with Palmer’s haunting image and a roadside scene from the show’s unmistakeable opening credits, as well as pins, beanies, coffee cups, and more.
In fact, you’ll probably want to go ahead and pair that new skateboard with a damn fine cup of coffee, served up in that aforementioned mug. In the wise words of Special Agent Cooper, “Every day, once a day, give yourself a present.”
