Lily-Rose Depp isn’t your average “French girl”. The daughter of American actor Johnny Depp and French singer Vanessa Paradis, she grew up between Paris and LA and has followed in their footsteps since making her film debut with cult horror, Tusk, in 2014. In the years since, she’s forged an acting career that bridges the best of both countries, starring in American indies like Planetarium and French-language features like L’Homme fidèle.
Much like her film career, Lily-Rose’s Franco-American heritage also informs her personal style. That’s to say, she wears Chanel just as much as she wears Brandy Melville. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Lily-Rose was chosen (by Karl Lagerfeld himself) to become a Chanel brand ambassador, walking alongside Kristen Stewart in the house’s Pre-Fall 2014 show. Two years (and one Chanel fragrance contract) later, the actress closed the house’s SS17 couture show, wearing this frothy pink bridal look.

Lily-Rose is an official face of Chanel. But she’s also an unofficial face of Brandy Melville. Here she is, in Paris, wearing one of her signature high-low casual looks: Brandy Melville sweater and wrap skirt with a Loro Piana leather jacket, vintage boots, and wired headphones.

Lily-Rose loves a 90s Chanel moment. In 2016, the actress made her Venice Film Festival debut in a look from the house’s SS95 collection. Three years later, Lily-Rose dove further into the archives, pulling up to the Met Gala in a stunning gown from Chanel SS92.

When she’s trawling through the Chanel archive, Lily-Rose doesn’t pull exclusively from the 90s, having previously worn looks from the house’s SS00 couture and SS14 couture collections. Here, at the 2021 Met gala, she wears a chic sequinned two-piece from Chanel SS15 couture — the too-long patent belt detail bringing just a hint of Hot Topic and echoing, once more, Lily-Rose’s high-low aesthetic.

As one of the brand’s foremost ambassadors, Lily-Rose is no stranger to Chanel tweed. She’s worn the house signature on the César and Venice Film Festival carpets, and to myriad Chanel events. Arguably, her most iconic tweed look was on the Chanel SS22 front row: a three-piece skirt suit reimagined for the Instagram generation.
