Lulu Kennedy is fashion’s fairy godmother and the catalyst behind some of our favorite designers (Caitlin Price, Ashley Williams, and Craig Green amongst many more). The legacy of her Fashion East initiative travels far and wide. So far in fact, that the good people at Copenhagen International Fashion Fair — CIFF for short — tracked down Lulu to lend her unique talents and expert eye to the three day event last week. For her curated space, Lulu handpicked a selection of designers; their pieces were showcased using a bunch of beautiful street cast models courtesy of one of the industry’s leading casting directors, Madeleine Østlie from AAMO casting.

When quizzed about how the collaboration came to life, Lulu says, “They got hold of me and asked if I would like to curate an area at CIFF, so I flew out to Copenhagen, met the team, saw the space and straight away totally liked the whole idea; they’re progressive and the venue is insane, like an aircraft hanger meets art gallery.”

Current Fashion East-ers Per Gotesson, Feng Chen Wang, Richard Malone, and Rottingdean Bazaar sat side by side with alumni Marques’Almeida and Christopher Shannon; Finery and Aries brought feminine elegance and slick streetwear vibes. All together, the proceedings resulted in a brilliant showcase of exactly what London has to offer. “I like that as an international project it’s something completely new for us to take on, and we can learn loads from it,” Lulu concludes. Take a look at exclusive backstage images below.
