Everything can change in a day, which is exactly what happens to one young skater girl in the latest installment of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales short film series. Directed by Crystal Moselle, who found fame with the critically acclaimed documentary The Wolfpack, “That One Day” tells the tale of 17-year-old Rachelle, who stumbles across a gang of fearless skater girls and world of fun, friendship and female empowerment. “I am in love with the transformation stage in a girl’s life,” says Moselle, “when they are not quite a girl but not quite a woman. When I was in my transformation stage, as a young girl, Miu Miu was a big part of that story.”

A journey of self-discovery, “That One Day” is Miu Miu’s twelfth commission in the series and will premiere today at the Venice Film Festival’s Venice Days program, along with a screening of Naomi Kawase’s “Seed. The entire Women’s Tales archive can be viewed on the Miu Miu website, accompanied by exclusive interviews with the directors and behind-the-scenes footage.
