The drama around Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview has not even died down yet, and already we have new damaging gossip about the British Royal Family waiting in the wings to feed us all. It’s not exactly recent gossip, but that doesn’t mean this documentary about Princess Diana and her controversial tell-all interview in 1995 will be any less juicy.
The Diana Interview: Revenge of a Princess for ITV will look into how the BBC interview — in which Diana revealed details of her marriage to Charles and his infidelity, as well as her mental health problems — came to be. It will also speak to those who witnessed her marriage fall apart, and reveal previously unseen documents and footage from the interview itself. Yes, we’re going all the way back to the nineties to ask that age-old question: were you silent, or were you silenced?
The documentary will be broadcast later this year, in two parts, reports Variety. We don’t know much more than that, other than the fact it has been bought by numerous domestic TV channels across the world. What we do is know we will 100% be tuning in for some vintage goss. Presumably Charles and Camilla will be watching through their fingers too. 2021, eh! Not a great year for the reputation of the royals! Maybe by 2022 we can get rid of them and turn Buckingham Palace into a massive Greggs instead.
