    Voguing Shanghai is ushering in a new era of LGBTQ+ youth culture in China's largest city.

    On a rainy night last week, the tension from the pandemic slowly easing, China’s first ballroom competition — Voguing Shanghai — attracted huge crowds. Founded by JackyJacky and Shirley Milan, Voguing Shanghai’s mission is to empower the LGBTQ+ community — spreading awareness through positivity and inclusive love. After launching in late 2019, they opened their studio earlier this year after social distancing was relaxed and have already put a magical stamp on the social scene in their city.
