John Galliano traveled to outer space to find another race for Maison Margiela spring/summer 17, and returned to his Paris Fashion Week runway with inter-galactic earpieces, headsets, and goggles. The celebrated designer once again turned fashion on its head with his considered deconstruction of everyday-wear: there were raincoats turned inside out, mesh gloves, haute yoga mats, and space age sportswear galore. His palette ranged from highlighter yellows to jewel-toned metallics. i-D fave Pat McGrath worked her makeup magic on the models — cue blue shimmery lips, body glitter, lilac brows, and lemon yellow lids underlined with mint green stripes. It was a visual feast and we were lucky enough to sneak backstage to capture it all!
