Just a week away from the SS24 womenswear shows, we need some inspo for our AW23 fits to serve through the streets of New York. Luckily Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Loewe, Kenzo, Jimmy Choo, Courrèges and Moose Knuckles all have chic new campaigns, filled with stars that make their previous collections look extra desirable. There’s also some incredibly ‘add to cart’-able drops from Ganni x New Balance and ERL x Levi’s, as well as a must-see archive exhibition from Stone Island at Frieze Seoul. Here’s what’s in fashion.

Bottega Veneta’s new campaign is a chic AF character study

Milan is a city best known for being pretty damn chic, and one of its chicest residents is, of course, the house of Bottega Veneta. For its latest campaign, the house trained its lens onto the city’s immaculately dressed citizens – well, models, but still – shooting them in non-descript entryways and streets decked out in the brand’s Winter 2023 collection. A celebration of the proud design history of the brand’s home country, the campaign uses often-overlooked, yet impeccably considered architectural spaces as a backdrop for similarly exquisite, though much trickier to overlook clothes from Matthieu Blazy’s most recent runway collection. Needless to say, it has us waiting with bated breath for the next! MS

Gucci’s new campaign celebrates the Horsebit bag

In just over three weeks, Sabato de Sarno will present his very first full collection at the helm of one of fashion’s true giants – Gucci. Ahead of then, though, the house has debuted the last campaign of its interim era, releasing an image series celebrating the nostalgic collection it presented in Milan back in February. Starring Vittoria Ceretti, Aboubakar Konte and Brando Erba, shot by David Sims, and styled by i-D’s very own Alastair McKimm, the campaign’s set echoes that of the show itself, spotlighting its keystone accessory – the iconic Horsebit Chain bag, revived from the house’s Tom Ford era. A hint of what lies in store for the house’s new era? Well, we’ll have to wait for the SS24 show to find out! MS

Saint Laurent drops a truly all-star campaign

Beyond shows, campaigns are perhaps the most effective way for brands to flaunt their star power, showing the world which fab famous faces they’ve got on their books. For AW23, Saint Laurent has done just that, and then some, dropping one of the ritziest campaigns we’ve ever seen. Granted, Saint Laurent is among the celeb-iest houses out there, with muses over the years including everyone from Catherine Deneuve to Indya Moore, but this one goes wild with starry faces. Shot by Gray Sorrenti, it stars a full sweep of iconic house ambassadors, including (*deep breath*): Hailey Bieber, Dominic Fike, Steve Lacy, Zoë Kravitz, Mica Argañaraz and Kate Moss, whose image for the campaign was teased just last week. Chapeau, Anthony and team! MS

Stone Island heads to Seoul for Frieze

If you’re at Frieze in Seoul next week, make sure you stop by the largest installation Stone Island has ever staged in Asia. Entitled Selected Works Seoul ‘982-‘023: The Stone Island Archive, the exhibition will feature over 70 classic Stone Island pieces from history, including a cape based on military truck tarpaulins from their first ever collection in Spring Summer 1982, to the Ghost collection of 2011, and their most recent work including the new thermosensitive ice jacket and the pure metal shell jacket. Additionally, nine towering plinths will be topped by life size sculptures of iconic Stone Island looks and the models who walked them down the runway, while rare pieces from the brand’s prototype research series will close out the exhibition. A must-see, innovative selection of designs, check it out from 5-9 September. TG

Kenzo juxtaposes the vibes of Osaka and Kyoto

East meets West, Osaka meets Kyoto, modern meets heritage, underground street cultures meets the old city — it all comes together in Kenzo’s AW23 campaign that, like the collection, blends together the aesthetics of youth-led styles of the two unique Japanese cities, and then intertwined with the youth-quake of the Swinging Sixties across The Pacific. Photographed by Keizo Kitajima and in film form by Frank Lebon, icon du jour, rapper and brand ambassador Vernon from the K-pop band Seventeen wears ultra-baggy denim trousers and a sleek pinstripe shirt from the collection. He’s joined by models, and even creative director Nigo himself, as they storm the streets of Japan in the most iconic and desirable fits around. TG

Carlos Nazario’s first Moose Knuckles campaign is here

Earlier this year we shared the news that i-D’s global fashion director Carlos Nazario has taken over the role of global artistic director at Moose Knuckles, and now, for his first campaign at the Canadian outerwear label, he’s only gone and got irony-obsessed national treasure Alanis Morrisette to star in it. Us i-D girlies don’t play around. It also references Alanis’ 1995 music video for “Hand In My Pocket”, the parade crowd behind her mirrored here with a new gen of creative talents – Mustafa the Poet, Javon Walton (aka Ashtray in Euphoria), beloved Supreme skateboarder Beatrice Domond and rising fashion model Shy – all wearing Moose Knuckles alongside, well, somebody dressed as a literal moose. Taylor Russell stars in Loewe’s off-kilter campaign

Saint Laurent isn’t the only one dropping a starry campaign, with Loewe launching an image series documenting its subtly surreal collection with Bones and All star Taylor Russell. Portrayed in what feels like suspended time, her and fellow actress Tang Wei are seen playing with pairs of glasses, oh-so-sumptuous leather bags and gilded hand mirrors and as if they’d fallen through the looking glass themselves – a notion compounded by the blurred print satin dresses and nappa Polly Pocket ensembles they sport. A wonderfully weird campaign indeed. MS

Jimmy Choo taps K-pop star Mi-Yeon for its AW23 campaign

It’s a big moment for K-pop stars fronting fashion houses, and leading Jimmy Choo’s campaign is GI-DLE star and house global ambassador Mi-Yeon — parading around the streets of Paris and lounging on stone staircases like a Gossip Girl character — wearomg the luxury brand’s finest alongside i-D coverstar Rebecca Longendyke. Shot by Stas Komarovski and Mikael Jansson, the pair showcase pieces from the Jimmy Choo Fall collection including the new diamond top handle and crossbody bags in a deliciously sultry shade of deep red, and featuring the signature Jimmy Choo hardware. We need! TG

Courrèges’ AW23 campaign is an ethereal vision

Echoing the dreamy atmosphere of its AW23 show, Courrèges’ David Sims-shot (yes, a busy week for him!) campaign sees house muses Loli Bahia and Mona Tougaard star alongside Aussie fashion icon Gemma Ward captured against a celestial backdrop, like angels emerging from the mist. Granted, with their scanty cut-outs and lashings of leather, some of the clothes they sport are, frankly, devilish – but that doesn’t make us want them any less! 😈 MS

    Ganni x New Balance campaign

Ganni and New Balance reunite on three new trainers

Ganni girlies run, don’t walk, to your nearest Ganni or New Balance store because the Copenhagen-based it brand has once again partnered with the famed sneaker company, this time on three new trainers in classic and athletic styles. Illustrated in a LOL campaign by The New York Times cartoonist Suerynn Lee, the New Balance 1906R and the RC30 sneaker have been turned into three new styles featuring bold, enticingly danger-suggesting yellow and black designs ready for your nights out, morning coffee runs, to take the bins out… any physical activity you want to look slay in really. Levi’s pairs up with ERL

What’s more Levi’s than denim? And what’s more denim than California? And what’s more Cali than ERL? For his brand’s first ever collaboration, the Venice Beach based designer Eli Russell Linetz has partnered with, duh, Levi’s on a selection of garms that take double denim to the next level.
