Okay, okay… so it’s not a music video. In fact, there’s literally no sound. But after completely wiping her twitter slate clean and deleting (or maybe archiving, let’s face it) literally all of her Instagram posts two days ago, fans began freaking out, taking the Blank Space (lol?) to suggest either the impending Swiftopalyse or a forthcoming follow up to 2014’s platinum selling 1989.
Breaking her silence, Taylor just shared a ten second long static-plagued video of what appears to be a spiny sort of snake. More “Where are my dragons?” than Snakes On A Plane. Due to release her sixth album before the year is out (because, come on! How many years does it take to make an album?) could this be a hint of a snake themed release? If so, who is she calling a snake? What happened to Timeless? How many tracks will feature guest vocals from Haim? Was Taylor the Grammy-winning artist Kesha teased that she collabed with last year? What happened to that detailed fan theory that the album would be space themed and named Eclipse? I mean, today is eclipse day so maybe that theory hasn’t completely gone out of the window.
As the minutes, hours, and potentially days slither by, only time will tell whether she’s about to gift us with a record beyond our Wildest Dreams.
