the most awkward moments from that cara delevingne interview

Cara got sarcastic and nailed American TV hosts.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock with seriously bad wifi, you’ve probably caught sight of the most awkward interview with Carla — sorry — Cara Delevingne, that’s currently doing the rounds online. Live streamed on Good Morning Sacramento, the model-turned-actress was on air to promote her new film, Paper Towns, but the interview quickly went from bad to downright ugly, and here’s why.

    It’s ‘Cara’, duh!
First up, getting the name of the person you’re supposed to be interviewing wrong is pretty unforgivable. Getting the name of the most famous model/actress/instagramer in the world is just plain dumb. Introduced as ‘Carla’, by one of the Good Morning Sacramento hosts, the interview is doomed before it even begun.

    Lost in translation:
British humor is incredibly sarcastic and almost certainly gets lost in translation, which is exactly what happened to Cara’s witty responses to being asked the most basic questions of whether she’s even read the Paper Towns book (“no I never read the book, or the script really. I just kind of winged it…”) and whether she identified with her character Margot (“No, I actually hate her.”) I mean, come on!

    Are you just exhausted?
Things are already looking desperate when co-host Mark S. Allen interrupts the interview to ask Cara why she didn’t seem happy or excited. Sure, she does seem a bit off (maybe it’s because they got her name wrong?) but “Are you just exhausted?” is never a question you want to hear, least of all on live TV.

    You seem a bit irritated…
Suddenly the atmosphere sours. After calling her out on her lackluster attitude, another host (the one who got her name wrong) remarks, “you seem a bit irritated, perhaps it’s just us… we’ll let you go a take a little nap, maybe get a Red Bull. How about that?”

    *screen goes blank*

After muttering the words “too far” under her breath, the screen goes blank and Cara disappears, which pretty much sums up the entire situation. Worst interview ever…
