At Art Basel Miami Beach in 2017 Angelo Baque — the creative brain behind label AWAKE NY, and ex of Supreme — launched a new project, Social Studies. Billed as an educational-retail pop-up experience, it combined the talents of everyone from designer Virgil Abloh to photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis. The aim was to provide youth-focussed workshops, guidance and advice, alongside books, magazines, exclusive T-shirts, and more.

Now, this weekend, Angelo is hosting Social Studies second outing at MiLK Studios in New York. The line-up is a frankly incredible who’s who of the current streetwear scene in the US. Virgil Abloh is dropping an exclusive T-shirt, with all proceeds going to select youth-focused organisations in the South Bronx. Photographer Rafael Rios is launching a new book, Family. Not only that, there’ll be talks and workshops with T-shirt brands Online Ceramics and Come Tees, labels No Vacancy Inn, Some Ware, Heron Preston, and hip hop’s most-hyped new artist, Sheck Wes.
