After posters with The Stone Roses’ iconic lemon logo were plastered over billboards and record shop windows in the band’s hometown of Manchester earlier this week, rumors started to rumble. But only today were they confirmed true, with a tweet from the band revealing, “THE STONE ROSES WILL RELEASE A NEW SINGLE TONIGHT AT 8PM.” Although the band briefly reformed to perform a series of shows in 2012, it’s been more than 20 years since their last album, Second Coming, which was released in 1994.

Just two hours ago, the band posted new single All For One to iTunes. Rather than borrowing from the sludgy structure of hits like I Wanna Be Adored, it harkens to the sunnier facets of the Madchester legends’ output (think She Bangs the Drums or Waterfall). The four-piece also has gigs lined up for this summer to coincide with the release, including four headline shows at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium as well as shows in Dublin, New York, Japan and a headlining slot at T In The Park.
