Last week, Balmain unveiled their new campaign featuring the likes of Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Adriana Lima and Joan Smalls as the #balmainarmy shot by superstar photographer Mario Sorrenti, an epic campaign by anyone’s standards. Little did we know what was in store next….
Social media sensation and reality star, Kim Kardashian West this afternoon, tweeted a picture of her and her rapper husband Kanye West starring in the spring/summer 15 menswear campaign, also photographed by Mario Sorrenti.
Creative Director of Balmain Olivier Rousteing has also instagrammed a picture of the couple confirming the news and proving that the power of celebrity doesn’t look set to die anytime soon.
“For this Menswear campaign, I wanted to capture a moment of love. Kim and Kanye are style icons and friends. It is an honour to have them in this Balmain campaign. Together, they represent love, beauty and diversity—they are the new modernity. This is more than a campaign, it expresses something beyond clothes—it is a celebration of love and friendship. This is a new statement for Balmain,” says Olivier.
