Enter Maluca. The NYC-based songstress has been working under the wing of Diplo for the past few years, honing her “tropical punk, dominican rave” style. Having been laying fairly low, only surfacing for shows, studio time or to bounce around with Robyn on a bed, Maluca recently dropped the R&B via reggaeton cut, “Mala.“Now, i-D is excited to exclusively share the video.
Directed by Shahana Khan, we see Maluca emerge from a haze of smoke in what looks like the comfiest, hyper-futuristic massage chair in the world. It looks like things get a little steamy, too, as Maluca explains “massage chairs are the new ‘THRONES’ and 2016 is all about self care. Being good to yourself is fucking cool!”
