Exactly four months since its initial release, Kanye West is still tinkering with latest album The Life of Pablo. Following on from production tweaks he made back in March, as well as the re-addition of Vic Mensa and Sia to “Wolves,” the LP has now been updated with a 20th track: “Saint Pablo.”
West famously described his seventh release as “a living breathing changing creative expression” while working on “Wolves” (#contemporaryart) and, with a lack of importance placed on physical releases, the update raises interesting questions as to when an album is, if ever, really finished. Will we see Bob Dylan decide to chuck a couple of extra tracks on the end of Highway 61 Revisited, for instance? Axl Rose decide that, on retrospect, Chinese Democracy could do with another 17 years on it? Hell, TLOP may even prove to be Kanye’s Chinese Democracy — a continuously changing work of evolving line-ups and stylistic reworks (only with a considerably smaller bandana budget).
In other Kanye news, the rapper also announced he’ll be going on a 40-day tour of North America, but to be honest all of the dates could have been changed by now so let’s just leave it there.
