Everyone’s favorite Danish electro-pop cool girl MØ is back with a summery club track fit for all your sad girl disco needs. “When you’re gone, I lose faith, I lose everything I have found,” she sings over an anticipatorily simple chord progression, “Heart strings, violins, that’s what I hear when you’re by my side, but when you’re gone the music goes, I lose my rhythm, lose my soul,” before a finger-clicking build up into the euphoric chorus with a bouncing beat and tropical melody.
“Final Song is about reconnecting with your inner strength,” MØ says in a statement. “With your inner glow, passion, spirit animal, whatever — the force that keeps us going and doing what we love. I wrote it with MNEK and Noonie Bao — both of whom I adore — in Los Angeles earlier this year. We all need to feel empowered from within to be the best version of ourself, but it’s not always easy and that’s what inspired me to write these lyrics. When you’re united with your inner glow you can beat the fears and fly towards your dreams.”
The new single comes with a world tour announcement in tow, seeing MØ perform in a host of European cities, including nine UK dates in October, and 10 dates in the US throughout November. Ahead of the tour, she’s racking up festival appearances at Roskilde, Lovebox, Latitude, Lollapalooza, Bestival and more.
