Marc by Marc Jacobs’ second outing by Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley took a decidedly more experimental turn this season with a nod to the pair’s British roots. The result? A collection that wouldn’t have been out of place on both Hillier and Bartley in the 90s London they grew up in. PVC, pastels and polka-dots all harmoniously lived together in perfectly styled outfits that cement the irreverency of the new MBMJ girl. Silhouettes ranged from strapless bralets with a tee tucked in for the laser-heavy rave (also the theme of the set) to pretty nylon dresses and separates in candy colours for days for when she needs to crack out her Sunday best. She’s daring, free and doesn’t conform. More proof? Punky faux-hawks inspired by Bjork courtesy of Guido coupled with subdued make up from Diane Kendal. The whole collection was jarred, juxtaposed and just plain awesome!
