You’ll never guess who SIA’s got dancing in her new video… this time, Maddie Z leads a troupe of 49 young dancers in an intense routine that culminates in a nightclub setting with a wall full of bullet holes, leading some to suggest that it was made with the horrific Orlando shootings in mind. The heavy performance ends as the children fall to the floor, with Maddie left crying rainbow tears.

The cosmic Kelly Lee Owens continues to interrupt our worldview with this track from her upcoming Oleic EP. It stands for “colours, beauty, motion” in case you were wondering (as opposed to “Coal Bed Methane” or “Confederation of British Metalforming”).

The grande dame of British fashion urges intellectuals to unite and take over on new track by MC Mic Righteous. “We are building a movement,” the year’s unlikeliest rap star told i-D. “If you care about the world join IoU. Intellectuals Unite is open to all.”
Mykki Blanco, Loner (featuring Jean Deaux) prod. Jeremiah Meece
A song all about misunderstanding here from O.C. native Mykki Blanco. “People only know a party persona when it comes to Mykki Blanco,” he says of the quietly affecting release, ahead of upcoming debut album Mykki. “With this album and with this song I want them to know who I am on the inside.”
GANGLY, Holy Grounds
News just in: GANGLY rule. Little is known about the new Icelandic act whose first track (and awesome video) just dropped, but we’re already a fan of their wonderfully breathy Bjork-like vocals.
Earl Sweatshirt, Death Whistles
Edgar the Beatmaker, aka King Krule, provides the beat on a particularly meditative track by Earl Sweatshirt. It’s hazy and introverted and not a bit less charismatic for it.
Pumarosa, Honey
London five-piece Pumarosa sounding particularly healthy here on chiming new single Honey, their first since signing to Fiction Records. “God gave us honey, oh he gave us honey…. oh you stupid son of a bitch,” sings the refreshingly eccentric sounding Isabel Munoz-Newsome. One to watch when they hit the road in the UK next month.
Black Marble, Frisk
By the sounds of some of the music in our inbox over the last few weeks, we’re already living in a post Stranger Things music world, and that’s no more evident on this dark and synthy release by Chris Stewart AKA Black Marble. One to file next to the War On Drugs for a pensive drive in the dark.

Dream Wife, Lolita
Shot on VCR by Sam Boullier and Eleanor Hardwick, it’s all very Blair Witch Project. Referencing all manner of horrors, these creeps have got us excited about Halloween… talking of which, they’ll actually be hosting their very own freak fest at Moth Club on 31st October. Until then, catch their DJ set at i-D’s celebration of Icelandic hip-hop next week.
