Rumours of a Beetlejuice reprisal have been flying around since 2013, and it’s now official. Stopping by Late Night with Seth Myers Winona confirmed the sequel we’ve been dreaming of: “I think I can confirm it, because Tim Burton did this interview… he was doing some press for Big Eyes and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah we’re doing it and Winona’s going to be in it.’ If he said it, I can say it.”
Back in 2013 Winona promised “It’s not a remake, it’s 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later.” Here’s hoping the rest of the original cast returns (Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Michael Keaton) for the film. If Tim Burton has his way, Michael will definitely be involved “There’s only one Beetlejuice, and that’s Michael,” the director said last year. Fingers crossed.
