i-D is joining forces with London’s iconic V&A for a special photography edition of their monthly Friday Lates. Taking place on Friday 26 October, the free event — titled Friday Late: Snap in collaboration with i-D — will coincide with the launch of the new V&A Photography Centre, and explore how we create, collect and preserve moments in the click of a shutter.

Visitors will have the chance to attend a screening with recent i-D cover sharp-shooter Campbell Addy. There’ll be the opportunity to go behind the scenes of i-D’s revolutionary early years with recently discovered footage from i-D Founder Terry Jones’ personal archive. While i-D Creative Director Graham Rounthwaite will be running a zine making workshop, inviting visitors to reimagine and rework imagery and text from the most recent issues of the magazine.

Music on the night will be provided by online radio station Balamii with Shy One and Maxwell Owin, and photographer Ophelia Wynne will be on hand to offer guests the chance to star in their very own straight up — a documentary style of photography invented by i-D in 1980.

All events are free and places are designated on a first-come, first-served basis unless stated otherwise. Filming and photography will take place at this event and if you have any access requirements, you can let the V&A know in advance by emailing disability@vam.ac.uk.
