Last week Lorde sent teenagers (ok, all of humanity) into a spin when she took to Facebook to talk about her intensely anticipated second album. In a post title A NOTE FROM THE DESK OF A NEWBORN ADULT, she reflected on turning 20 and looked back on how Pure Heroine enshrined her teenage glory, “putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies.” The former teenager also opened up about what comes next: a new record. While she noted the album artwork, live show, and merch were all planned, she didn’t offer any firm dates.

Yesterday, she once again teased her audience with a social media update. This time she posted an image of her holding a pair of headphones to Twitter with the caption, “listen to the record on these every day. Wanna hear it exactly how you will.” Considering she already admitted the lyrics on this unnamed record are “the best I’ve written in my life” we can understand why she can’t turn it off. Hopefully these social media tastes mean the release is right around the corner. Remember, Rihanna pulled a similar move on Twitter days before Anti dropped. Because at this point, we don’t know how much more teasing we can take.
