Beloved Brit label Mulberry has released its first campaign since Johnny Coca took the helm as creative director in 2015. The Spanish designer — and former accessories man at Céline — debuted his fall/winter 2016 collection in February to the general consensus that Mulberry Group had scored a home run with their hiring decision. And the new visual drives home Coca’s fresh new vision for the brand’s own rich heritage.
“I wanted to capture everyday moments, fleeting moments that are both mundane and beautiful,” he said of the video, which pivots around stellar outerwear, eye-grabbing accessories, and an intimate moment between two female friends. “The result is a series of vignettes that have an almost voyeuristic feel.”
Mulberry tapped 23-year-old camera wizard Coco Capitán to shoot the campaign, and the legendary Katy England to style it. The video drops alongside an exclusive capsule collection of Coca’s first designs, all of which are trimmed with his new signature: press studs inspired by military hardware and British punk rock culture.
