Donatella Versace and Versus designer Anthony Vaccarello are coming to London in May to host a “happening” for Versace diffusion brand Versus. The details of the event are classified for now, but it has been described as a “collection unveiling” and will involve a performance and special exhibition at the Truman Brewery.
Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello was announced as Versus Creative Director earlier this year, after presenting a successful capsule collection for the brand in 2014. When i-D spoke to Donatella about Vaccarello joining the label, she said, “There’s something about Anthony’s work that made me notice it immediately. He cuts with such boldness, passion and freedom, and he loves to make women look and feel their best.”
Vaccarello may have taken the reigns at Versus after stints by London design stars J.W. Anderson and Christopher Kane, but it seems the brand still has an affection for the UK’s fashion capital. With the announcement of this mysterious “happening” and news that Versus will open its own 1,500 square foot store on Redchurch Street later in the summer, it appears Versace’s wild little sister is coming to party in east London.
