willow smith’s debut chanel eyewear campaign has landed

Plus, Chanel shares BTS images of Willow and Karl hanging on set.

It’s here. Since Chanel announced Willow Smith as a brand ambassador in February we’ve been patiently waiting for her fall/winter print campaign. While we’ve already seen the video of the campaign, shot by Karl Lagerfeld and soundtracked by Nao’s tune “Apple Cherry,” we were excited to see where the teen would take the images.

The shots see the i-D covergirl draped in pearls and geometric fames, while a couple BTS snaps reveal Karl behind the lens. It’s the second major campaign Willow has starred in since signing a modeling contract with The Society in 2015, following an appearance in Marc Jacobs’ fall/winter campaign, which was a celebration of his muses young and old.

Earlier in the year Willow reflected toThe Telegraph“It’s not every day that a 15-year-old black girl with dreads gets elected to be the Chanel ambassador.” She took the Chanel Eyewear reigns from Lily Rose-Depp, who fronted the spring/summer campaign and is now the face of L’Eau N°5. If that’s anything to by, we’ll be seeing Willow and Karl work together again soon. And hopefully the eyewear job will become an incubator for baby Chanel icons. Check out our favorite snaps and the accompanying BTS below…
