After making her fashion debut at Chanel’s Métiers d’Art show alongside mom and longtime Karl muse Vanessa Paradis in March and getting her gamble on last week at the house’s haute couture casino, it should shock no one that Lily-Rose Depp has just been named Chanel’s newest face.
The impossibly cool 16-year-old’s first campaign, repping Chanel’s Pearl eyewear collection, was shot by Lagerfeld himself, who had nothing but her praises to sing in a statement: “Lily-Rose is stunning, she’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star.” Although the images won’t be in print until September, from what we can see, she’s serving serious face in a pair of rose-tinted circle frames and intricate sequin situation, kind of like the chic dream offspring of Mia Farrow and Natural Born Killer Mickey Knox.
LiRo has been keeping pretty busy lately: landing film roles alongside Natalie Portman and her pops, throwing a macabre sweet 16 bash, and whippin’ in the drop top in Rejjie Snow’s new video. We’re stoked to see what else Chanel has in store for the budding fashion starley and social media it-girl.
