As we reported a few weeks ago, Frank Ocean fans were stressing out big time throughout July that the album drop he promised back in April still. hadn’t. arrived. As we launch headlong into August this weekend, there is still no album from Frank, and his loyal followers are getting pretty strung out across social media.

Way back in April, Frank posted the image at the top of this post on his Tumblr, announcing, “I got two versions. I got twooo versions…”, and tagging #issue1, #album3, #july2015 and #boysdontcry– widely understood to mean an album and a magazine release in July probably called Boys Don’t Cry. This weekend, Frank’s sneaky little bro Ryan posted the same image to his Instagram account with the caption, “Its finally out! Link in my bio [fire emoji]”; of course, fans headed straight there to get some fresh new Ocean vibes, but when they got to the link they found they had been well and truly rick rolled. As one bewildered fan put it: “Cruel super cruel”.
