Read… The Rice is on the Hob
British-Pakistani and London-based photographer Tami Aftab is set to release her debut book The Rice is on the Hob, which is a beautiful blend of photographs and recipes co-authored by her father Tony. He suffers from short-term memory loss due to a medical condition that occurred as a result of an accident in operation almost 30 years ago, however, despite this he’s always been able to recall the memory of dishes from his childhood. Available to order now, £5 from each sale is going to Muslim Hands to rebuild homes destroyed by the 2022 Pakistan floods.

Arbiters of fashion photography’s future, Fellowship, are bringing a handful of artists — both new and established — to this year’s Paris Photo, presenting work that shifts the boundaries of image-making, video and AI. The likes of Joel Meyerowitz, Simon Raion and Yatreda present their work in a dazzling new context. Running from 7-12 November in Paris Photo booth E10. More information here.

London’s Soho just got a new whisky and cocktail bar, located on what was once famously known as “Tin Pan Alley”: Denmark Street. From the team behind Milroy’s of Soho, it’s a chilled whisky shop, with space for coffee and food first thing in the morning, before transforming into a livelier space as day turns into night. Mark your calendar for… The Music Is Black: A British Story
Don’t say we didn’t give you time to plan for this one! In 2025, the V&A will open their new outpost in Stratford, East London, and are opening it with a monumental exhibition dedicated to Black British music, charting not only its impact on the United Kingdom, but globally. Spanning over 125 years, and featuring the works of everyone from Stormzy to Sampha, Jorja Smith to So Solid Crew, it’s bound to be a comprehensive and exciting exhibition on the UK cultural calendar.
